The Shanghai Restoration Project is a contemporary electronic music band formed by producer Dave Liang. The group's first eponymous release, was inspired by Shanghai jazz from the 1930s, which fused eastern and western music styles. The Project followed this up by combining traditional Chinese instruments with modern hip-hop and electronica. The release gained recognition, rising to the top 10 in several electronic charts, including iTunes and MSN Music.
